Swatches L-R: Hot Pour Abracadabra concealer, Orange County Girl cream blusher & You Are My Sunshine powder blusher.
If you haven't already heard, Fragrance Direct are currently selling a selection of the Dainty Doll range for the very bargainous price of £1.99! I'll admit I'd never looked into the Dainty Doll range before now, but I'm wondering why it took me so long as these products and shades are all designed for us pale ladies. Perfect or what! Dainty Doll is the make-up range from Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts who is of course pale and very interesting. It isn't exactly the cheapest makeup range with the blushers alone costing around £13.50, but when you have the opportunity to pick up some goodies for just £1.99 you really can't pass it up. I help myself back and only ordered a couple of the blushers and the concealer, although I know a lot of you have stocked up a big chunk of the Dainty Doll range now.
I chose one powder blusher (You Are My Sunshine #004) and one cream blusher (Orange County Girl #002), with both of the shades catching my eye straight away as they are very similar to NARS Orgasm. They are both gorgeous pink shades with gold shimmer and although they might look a bit scary in the pan, the shimmer gives your cheeks a lovely glow rather than looking like they are covered in glitter. Both are very pigmented so a little goes a long way, and I've found the cream blusher best to apply with my finger and then blend it in with my Real Techniques Stippling Brush.
I also picked up the Hot Pour Abracadabra concealer in the shade Light (#002). I'm very impressed with the formula as it's creamy and easy peasy to apply, whether it's for under the eyes or to cover blemishes. I decided to go with this shade as the lightest shade (funnily enough named Very Light #001) looked very light in swatches online, almost bordering on white which did put me off a bit. I'm happy to say that the shade Light is a perfect match for my pale skin as it doesn't look orange on the skin, hooray for that!
All three products came in lovely black compacts and even included quite substantial mirrors in each, especially surprising for the smaller concealer. You get a fair amount of product in each, and at just £1.99 you really can't complain! I know that some of the products available on the Fragrance Direct are now out of stock as everyone seems to be snapping up this great deal, although there are still a fair amount of goodies to choose from. You can find everything that's left here. Happy shopping and I'd love to see what you picked up if you've already taken advantage of this fab deal!
