The luck
and the bad luck are two aspects present in our life every day . They can have many forms and we
express them with some different exclamations. Some examples?
Are you
waiting for your turn at the post office-in Italy we have a ticket with the number and we expect our turn , it is the only possible solution to not
have any arguments because the Italian is not able to stay in the queue (about
it you can read my post http://www.learnitalianow.net/2012/09/life-and-customs-in-italy-italian.html). Suddenly a lady
approaches you and says, "I leave you my ticket with the number because I cannot
wait more." You look at it and it is 50 numbers before yours. What would
you exclaim? "What luck = che fortuna!" Sometimes it happens!
In the
event that you won the lottery you could say that you have been kissed by
theFortune = baciato dalla fortuna. This never happens!
The
opposite situation. You're late and you're running to the bus stop. You are
about to cross the street when the traffic light turns red and then you miss the bus. You will exclaim: "What bad
luck = che sfortuna!" but -believe me - that very few people are so
controlled when something negative happens! So you'll hear more frequently in the spoken
language the expression - perhaps less elegant but more lived and felt- "what
rotten luck! = che sfiga! ". This always happens!
Of course when something goes wrong there is
not much desire to restrain yourself . So you can leave by the bon ton and use one less elegant but more efficient exclamation.
Fortuna e sfortuna sono due aspetti che ogni giorno ci si presentano sotto varie forme e noi sotto varie forme li esprimiamo. Qualche esempio? State aspettando il vostro turno in posta : in Italia si ritira biglietto con il numero e si attende il proprio numero perché di base le file non le sappiamo fare ( a questo proposito puoi leggere il mio post) ad un certo punto si avvicina una signor a voi e vi dice: “ La lascio il mio numerino,io devo andare via.” Lo guardate ed è 50 numeri prima del vostro. Cosa vi verrebbe da esclamare? “che fortuna!” . Nel caso in cui vinceste la lotteria non solo si potrebbe dire che fortuna ma potreste affermare che siete stati baciati dalla fortuna.
Situazione contraria. Siete in ritardo e state correndo verso la fermata dell’autobus, state per attraversare ma il semaforo diventa rosso e quindi perdete l’autobus. Vi verrà da esclamare: “ Che sfortuna” ma credete che ben poche persone sono così controllate quando capita qualche cosa di negativo anche se minimo e sentirete maggiormente usare nel linguaggio parlato un’espressione forse meno elegante ma sicuramente più vissuta e sentita: “ che sfiga!”. Certo quando va male qualche cosa non c’è molta voglia di contenersi e quindi , lasciato da parte il bon ton lasciatevi andare pure ad una esclamazione meno elegante ma che rende bene l’idea.
