Aztec

Now this trend is as difficult as its name but its the one that requires the least styling of all (like paisleys and florals). All you need to do is make a careful choice. Play minimalism with this Mexican print and one can ever go wrong!
It sometimes becomes really confusing to pinpoint what exactly defines this print. There are no fixed rules. As far as my knowledge and understanding of Aztec goes, it is mixture of different geometrical shapes making a definite pattern-repeteive or non-repetitve- and includes the least white space.
It has been 6 years since the trend made its debut by a British designer and it still looks fresh maybe because it didn't become a fad like it is with some of the recent trends that faded away in less than a year. But its not just 6 years, the Aztec was a Native American tribe mainly in Mexico, many of you might know its history. The Aztec were very skilled architects and engineers and so it is reflected in the geometrical mixture of this ancient trend.
