The Indie Exchange author interviews series: Thank you Lisa Bilbrey for stopping by and telling us a little about yourself and your book.
AMAZONYou are stranded on a desert island, which one of your characters would you want to be stranded with and why?
If I was stranded on a desert island, I’d want to be with Travis. He’s strong, calm headed, and sexy. I mean, if I’m stuck, I might as well enjoy it, right?
Your character has died and gone to…
Heaven, and St. Peter would tell them that even though he’s a bit stubborn, or a lot stubborn, that he has a good heart and soul.
If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be and why?
I’d live in Hawaii. I’ve never been, but based on the research I’ve done for Angel’s Heart: The Keeper, it seems like Heaven on earth.
Where do you get ideas for your stories?
The plots for my books come in several different forms. Mostly from dreams, thought. With The Journey Collection, I had a dream about a man, standing in the middle of a football field with his son. It struck a cord with me, I guess.
What was the hardest scene/chapter/section to write from one of your stories?
The battle scene in Angel’s Heart: The Keeper. I’d never written a war-like battle, but I think I managed to capture the feeling.
What do you enjoy most about writing?
I love being able to tell the story. Real life is hard, but with books, we can escape to a hidden little hideaway and find a new adventure.
In your writing where do you see yourself ten years from now?
In ten years, I will still be writing, that much I know for sure. It’s not only a passion, but a way of life for me.
A character of yours is on the TV show The Taste…
Um, a chicken casserole that Travis made, and probably not very high since he’s not known for his culinary skills.
What is your favorite genre and why?
Romance. I love falling for the hero, or the villain, and connecting emotionally with them.
Who would enjoy reading your stories and why?
I’d like to think everyone would enjoy my work, but I know that isn’t always the case. I think those who are looking for sweet, emotional stories would like mine.
The Journey of Champions book blurb:Travis McCoy thought the journey home would be the hardest choice he ever had to make. It isn’t until he finds himself walking out the door and leaving his family behind that he realizes his journey is only just beginning. Now, with only a handful of weeks until Christmas, Travis tries to find his way back home. This time, he plans on staying forever.
