ATP Picks: London ATP Tour Finals

By Thetennistipster @Tennis_Tipster

We made it! The exhaustive, but thrilling, season reaches it’s climax in England’s capital.

Barclays ATP World Tour FinalsLondon, ATP Tour Finals

Rafa is missing this year with his knee injury, the year-end number 1 is locked down by Djokovic, so if anything Murray and Federer will be the most hungry. Tipsarevic retired in Paris, so a possible question mark on his fitness with Gasquet the next alternate.

Group A looks the tougher of the two, so Murray and Djokovic will need to stay sharp. Federer meanwhile has everyone’s number in Group B, so he should see his way to the semi-finals.

Let’s break it down:

ATP Level: 1500

Surface: Indoor Hard

GROUP A:
Novak Djokovic (SRB)
Andy Murray (GBR)
Tomas Berdych (CZE)
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (FRA)

GROUP B
Roger Federer (SUI)
David Ferrer (ESP)
Juan Martin del Potro (ARG)
Janko Tipsarevic (SRB)

Defending Champion: Roger Federer – Rested during Paris and looking for a stand-alone record 7th title. The only question is can he get by Murray and Djokovic?

Slumping: Tomas Berdych – A mini slump with loss to Gilles Simon in Paris and finds himself in the harder group.

On Fire: David ‘The Wall’ Ferrer – A winning machine, but always a question mark against Ferru when playing the top 4.

Party Pooper: Juan Martin Del Potro – The biggest threat to the Firm with the tools to beat anyone.

My pick: Andy ‘White Fang’ Murray – His best results this year have been on home turf and he’s the best player in the world right now.

Did You Know? Last year, Roger Federer became the first player to win six titles at the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals. The 30-year-old Swiss won his 70th tour-level trophy in his 100th final after he defeated Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-3, 6-7(6), 6-3 to become the oldest titlist at the year-end championship.
