In September, the creative culinary team at MO Bar will collaborate with Assaad Awad, luxury leather fashion and accessories designer based in Madrid, to present an unparelled, never-like-before afternoon tea – An Edgy Afternoon Tea with a Cause. Guests will also have a rare chance to see in person the “Yes I Wood” dress that Awad designed and worn by Lady Gaga.

In this remarkable debut trip to Hong Kong, Awad said: “I am delighted to work with The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong on this wonderful collaboration. The hip hotel is recognised as provider of the 21st century luxury with the oriental charm.” Through the sensational and edgy interpretation by MO Bar’s afternoon tea, Awad will showcase his iconic line, Awad Madrid of evening handbags inspired by the ancient art of bondage, the result is a fresh and new understanding of the handmade, combining tradition and modernity, classicism and avant-garde. What makes this collaboration extraordinary is that Awad will bring along the Yes I Wood dress that he designed and worn by Lady Gaga. Awad said “I know the Yes I Wood dress is unique not only in its material and design but also what it inspires people: creativity and modernity. This is how I see Hong Kong inspiring the world as a city where tradition and innovation perfectly blend. This blend utterly fits for the dress final home.” 500 extra wood flakes from Awad’s studio sign and red-seal will be available for Guests enjoying the afternoon tea, by purchasing a piece of wood flake at HKD200, will be able to join Assaad Awad in #WOODFORGOOD AIDS Fight and have a chance to win a raffle prize of one of his signature Wonderwood Bag. The Yes I Wood dress will also be available for auction.

The exotic afternoon tea is priced at HKD338 from Mondays to Fridays, including the three- tier tea set, five delectable pastries and a choice of JING tea or coffee; and HKD358 on Saturdays and Sundays, topped with a dessert buffet. Each guest enjoying the afternoon tea will be presented with an exclusive gift of a leather bracelet* designed by Awad.
