This week’s artist on the rise is American singer – songwriter Zella Day Kerr. Born 13 March 1995, professionally known as Zella Day, is an Indie Pop artist from Pinetop, Arizona. Day has not been a part of the music industry for a long time, she only started her career around 2012, but she’s come a long way. On June 14th 2012, she released her first single “Seven Army Nation”, under WAX LTD. A few weeks after the release of her hit single, Day, Also Featured in Sultan and Ned Shepard’s single “All These Roads”. Late 2013; she released the music video to the single, which accumulated over 400,000 views.

n March 21, 2014, Day released an audio for a song ofhers called “1965“. The song was later packed digitally, making up her debut single, “1965/Sweet Ophelia“. The single was released in April, 2014. That same month, Day released her debut extended play “Zella Day“ on vinyl. A video for “Sweet Ophelia” was released a few months later on October 24, 2014. That same day, she released the EP, “Zella Day“, onto digital outlets; The EP features its lead single “Sweet Ophelia“, along with the songs “Hypnotic“, “East of Eden“, and “Compass“. The extended play also peaked at #16 on Billboards Heatseeker’s Charts. One of the songs from the EP, “Hypnotic“, served as one of iTunes’ “Singles of the Week” where it was available for free download.In early 2015, Day announced that her debut album was titled “Kicker” and would be released of that same year, under Hollywood Records. Day’s song “Sacrifice” appeared on The Divergent Series: Insurgent – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. Sadly I did not learn about this incredible artist until I hear The Divergent Album. “Sacrifice” certainly got my attention; this young singer has a long wonderful journey ahead of her. It is said that “Kicker” should be release June 2, 2015 and we wish her the best of luck in all her future endeavors.
