Meghan Elizabeth Trainor is an American singer-songwriter, musician and producer best known for the song “All About That Bass“. This 22 year old singer grew up in Massachusetts with a musical family and has been writing music from the age of 11, from the age of 17 to the age of 19 this artist wrote music for many famous artists including Carrie Underwood, Lady Antebellum and George Strait. Around that time she met and wrote with Grammy-nominated producer Kevin Kidash.
In 2014 she wrote the song “All about that Bass” with Kidash. This has been a major success for the young artist her song hit #8 on the US Billboard Hot 100’s, and most certainly creating a wave around the world. I’ve chosen this Artist due to the fact that this piece captured my undivided attention. It sends a great message to the female base in today’s society.
Clearly she is unafraid to be original and proud of her utter blunt and unique individuality; as she gives her fans the same message through her lyrics. Also Trainor composes in a mixture of pop, reggae, hip hop, country and soca, which she uses for herself along with the writing she does for other artists. Trainor cites Trinidadian soca as a major influence. Other influences include Christina Aguilera, Frank Sinatra and ’50s style music. I expect nothing but greatness from this incredible strong artist. As she continues her journey in creating beautiful music along with the positive influence she’s sending across to the young listener’s, us at Catch My Ear will continue to praise the fantastic work of this girl. The Song Hit No. 1 recently on the Billboards hot 100′s, and I think it’s pretty clear why! For many years women strive to make themselves look like their idols, whether it’s intentional or not. Trainor even says so in her lyrics “it’s pretty clear” regardless of her image it’s the heart and personality of a person that truly matters. That Message alone is what has given this upcoming artist the attention she deserves.
