This week’s artist on the rise is Jacob Harris Miller. He is known by his stage name “Jake” Miller, born November 28, 1992 is an American, Pop, Rapper and Songwriter from Weston, Florida. This 21-year-old musician started his singing career in 2011 when he landed his first debut live performance, opening for rap legend Snoop Lion in Florida in 2011. Within the same year, Miller won the Samsung and T-Mobile USA national “Kick It With The Band” talent competition. Miller was awarded $35,000, which he used for his music career as well as a video with YouTube celebrity Keenan Cahill. This kicked off a whirlwind, which saw him opening for Mac Miller and performing alongside Flo Rida, and Asher Roth at the “Think Pink Rocks” concert, which benefited breast cancer awareness.

In November of 2013 Miller announced that Warner Bros records signed him. On July 6, 2014, Miller released the lead single from his upcoming second studio album “First Flight Home”. On September 30, 2014, Miller announced that he would release a new EP called “Lionheart” on November 24, 2014. Miller may have started his career with a few small difficulties, but this artist is on his way to greatness. After the entire struggle his name now lies beside some of the greatest artists known throughout the country. As the years progress we can only expect great hits from this young man.
