Are dogs being anything but themselves? Do they put on airs and images?
Do they do their best?
Stewart is my smallest pup –he’s a Papillion – with big ears, a long fluffy tail and diminutive good looks. He does something called “Zooming” – where he zooms around the beach, the yard, and wherever, the fastest he can. He makes circles and figure eights and moves so fast his hair flies behind him and his tails straightens out like an arrow. He takes great delight in his zooming and he does it the best.
Afterwards he pants and smiles and seems very pleased with himself and I laugh, I praise him and revel in his enthusiasm and vigor.
Its fun to watch Stewart zoom – it’s fun to watch anything and anyone do their best at their talent. Like watching the Olympics or any great athlete compete, or seeing Celine Dion perform, or a musician riff, or artists paint – it’s uplifting, it’s inspiring and thrilling too.
Watching people do their best – or when we do our best and that feeling you get when you know you gave it all.
What Stewart teaches me is how to revel in what we do best – and even though we don’t all zoom – we all do something well – we all do our “talent” – or we don’t –
Today the challenge is to think about whether you are using your talent to the best.
And to zoom to your fullest whenever you can! I intend to and when I’m done I will smile.
Remember, you create your day by the way you think. Make it magnificent!
Blessings, Shawna
