The Local reports that for the second year in a row, the Smart car (specifically, the Smart Fortwo) was the most stolen vehicle in France. Apparently thieves find the parts especially valuable.

3 Questions That Arise From This Story
1. Is it really that surprising that Smart cars are popular to steal? We mean, couldn’t a bunch of drunk college students just lift one of those things off the ground and run away with it to the nearest bumper car venue?
2. How many thieves from the show World’s Dumbest Criminals steal these things in the hopes of becoming smarter and not being labeled as “dumb criminals?” We don’t know, but we may suggest that a dumb way to steal a Smart car would be to hide it in a giant baguette and consume it.
Will thieves start stealing everything in Europe with a brand name “Smart?”
3. Who are the environmentalists apparently buying stolen auto parts? Is that really better for the environment? We’re guessing disassembling an entire car that has already been assembled is environmentally unfriendly, so think of that the next time a mechanic in an alley offers you a new engine for your car for 20 Euros!
