April has definitely been a month of makeup rediscoveries and I'm sure my bank balance is very happy about that. I decided to take a bit of a break from my Revlon foundations when I remembered that I still had half a bottle of the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in my drawer, happy days! I forgot just how much I loved this foundation and it has quickly made its way back up to my current favorite because of its great coverage and lovely finish. My concealer of choice has definitely been the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer simply because it covers so well and really brightens up my tired looking eyes in the morning. April has seen me be very lazy with eye makeup and it was Maybelline to the rescue with their Colour Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze (or On and One Bronze, whichever you prefer). A quick swipe of this cream eyeshadow is enough to give your eyes a nice bit of color and the shimmer really does make it look as though you've put so much more effort into it than you actually did. Cheek-wise I've been loving the MAC Blush in Dollymix because it gives a lovely pink flush to the cheeks and there's no way you could really over-do it as it's a sheertone blush so that's always a relief. It won't be a surprise that my favorite lip product of the month has been the Revlon Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya as it's just the perfect pretty peach shade in my opinion. The moisturising formula is great for giving your lips a nice sheen and although the color isn't as pigmented as I imagined, it's still a gorgeous addition to the lip butter collection.
It has been a pretty hectic month for my skin as the dreaded dissertation and other uni stress completely broke my chin out in so many angry looking spots. Thankfully I was able to try out the Clearasil Ultra Blemish + Marks range (*) and I can safely say that it worked wonders on my skin. I especially loved the Wash and Mask (*) as it was the perfect consistency for a great face mask and always left my skin feeling so clean afterwards. The Treatment Cream (*) also deserves a mention as it was a savior for keeping my spots at bay this month. 2 applications a day left my spots looking considerably calmer and soon enough the breakouts were under control which was a massive relief as I was really starting to get self conscious of my skin! April saw me testing out a new makeup remover and this was the newly released L'Oreal 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution, and surprise surprise it has quickly made its way into my favourites. Removing your makeup couldn't be easier with a little bit of this micellar water and a cotton pad, and the fact that it's gentle for the eyes makes it a winner to me.
Of course I couldn't forget about my nail favourites this month! I've been all about the brighter shades these past few weeks and Essie really have done it for me with their gorgeous shades and lovely formulas. My 2 favourites this month have to be Haute As Hello and Cascade Cool, with both of them being perfect shades for the summer time. Haute As Hello is a bright orange toned peach which I think is such a fun color for the summer and Cascade Cool is a pretty lilac toned pink that I've just posted about here. As you can see I've been loving quite a lot this month and I'd also love to know what have been your favourites during the month of April!
