Carbon for Android ReviewI am a Twitter user (@mramonks) and have tried nearly every Twitter client going. I like to use something light and fast and that fits the android theme. So I use Tweedle by HandlerExploit (Pictured below)

Finally an app that has been long awaited has been published to the play store called Carbon. I follow the creators account on Twitter and have seen lots of teasing screen shots. So I was very excited to see if it could live up to its high expectations.

I'm pretty impressed straight away with its looks. I'm usually a big fan of android apps following the holo theme that Google created, but Carbon is different, in a good way. It's not garish and full of ads like some other apps. It's dark and classy. There is only the one theme at the moment, but I'm sure that will change soon enough.

There are some slick animations when sweeping between tweets and mentions. You find your self swiping side to side just because it looks so cool. As a Twitter client it offers relatively simple functionality, but really when in your phone it does everything you need it to do. You have 3 columns, tweets, mentions and direct messages. You pull down on each column to refresh it if you want to refresh before its got to it's allotted time.

There are couple more useful features that can be accessed through the menu. There's an option to view your favorites and see the different trends going on.

All in all I quite like it. Time will tell but right now I quite like the change from my usual Twitter client. I'm going to try my best to use it for the next week to give it a proper chance. I'm looking forward to seeing where they take the app on the future

I have a link to the app here and a link to a you tube demonstration here

Please let me know your thoughts on the app if you choose to give it a try.

Enjoy
