Crackle is an app similar to Netflix. Crackle works similar to Netflix by it's ability to stream movies, but unlike Netflix, Crackle is free. Crackle is owned by Sony, so most of the movies on Crackle were produced by Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Crackle is a very simple app to use. It has different sections for movies, tv shows, and your watchlists. Watchlists are similar to Netflix queues. Here you can select the movies or tv shows you want to save for future viewing. You need to create a Crackle account to take advantage of the Watchlists. Crackle also syncs your Watchlists across all your devices. However, be careful because the movies on Crackle expire so make sure to watch them as soon as possible.

The movie library isn't very big, but the movies that are available have been highly reviewed. Some of the popular movies available are:

• Lockout
• Resident Evil: Extinction
• Resident Evil: Apocalypse
• The Legend of Zorro
• American Crude
• District 9
• Godzilla
• Underworld Evolution
• The Exorcism of Emily Rose

As you may have noticed, all these movies are quite old. However, they are still great movies and make for a quality time.

Putting the app to use:

The app is well put together. Everything is easy to navigate and the app looks attractive. There is a search function to search for the specific movie or tv show you wish to watch. After selecting the movie, there is a few seconds of buffering and then an advertisement (don't touch the screen while the ad is playing, unless you want to learn more about the advertisement). After the ad, the movie starts playing smoothly. The video quality isn't the best (it doesn't look HD), but is decent to watch on your phone or tablet. There are a few ads throughout the movie, but they aren't too intrusive. Crackle adds new movies every month, so you always have something to look forward to watching.
