The Central Executive Committee of former president Pervez Musharraf’s party – All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) – has sacked party’s General Secretary Dr Muhammad Amjad from his post.
The CEC passed a resolution against Dr. Amjad in the CEC meeting, held at the residence of prominent party leader and veteran lawyer Ahmed Raza Kasuri here in Islamabad on Wednesday.
According to sources, 29 off 32 members signed the resolution while party’s Information Secretary Aasia Ishaq and two other members Karim Khan and Hafiz Mahiuddin went against signing the resolution.
The resolution states that Dr. Amjad ruined APML; he is not loyal to the party that’s why CEC is dismissing him from his post.
Sources have told that Dr Ajmad was running the party matters as a dictator. He formed several committees without calling the meeting of CEC and preferred only personal interest.
CEC sacked Dr Amjad upon the direction of Pervez Musharraf, who was unhappy with his statement in favor of Taliban.
The party sources have told that Dr Amjad had relations with the leaders of arch-rivals Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP).
Ahmed Raza Kasuri will be the new General Secretary of the party.
