THE SHOWS Scandal
Personally, I thought the first minute of the Scandal finale when Jake murdered his Father-in-Law was the most Scandalous part of the show last night. Sure it was cool when Olivia broke Jake out of Commands house without unlocking any doors or busting any windows, and it was really cool when I figured out that the gray haired dude whose identity the Gladiators stole was Patrick Laborteaux formally of JAG and Tiger Beat magazine in the 70's. I guess it was fun when Mellie gave her super long "I earned this" speech to her ex and nobody taped it on their phone and through up on YouTube. I thought for sure that Fitz would have called Liv out for aborting his baby, but that didn't happen. Lots of VP shuffling. Jake, David Rosen, and Cyrus. Big problem with Cyrus running…tons and tons of skeletons in that dudes closet, not that Jake doesn't have an equal amount, but I guess in the end, Olivia won. She beat her father at his own game…or did she? He may not have gotten his guy on the ticket he wanted, but he did get his guy on a ticket and he did get his daughters mojo back which I think might have been his real goal in the first place. Thoughts?
THE OTHER STUFF
-Lots of cancellation and renewal news last night, I'll go through it all below but we need to do something…FOX officially cancelled The Grinder. I didn't mind when Grandfathered, or Cooper Barrett or Bordertown were cancelled but this one is a mistake FOX. It needs more time, it needs another season. I'm devastated by this news. The show is SO good, SO clever and has GREAT writing and a GREAT cast it deserves more time. SOMEONE SAVE THE GRINDER. Anyone have Kevin Reilly's number? He needs to save this show and get it on TBS asap!!! Please Kevin take my advice, call Rob Lowe's people, call Fred Savage's people, call the writers and tell them to KEEP WRITING! Tell them you're going to save the show.
-Not sure we need to go to the Upfronts next week at all. So much of the big news has already been revealed. CBS let the big cat out of the bag already with their Supergirl moving to the CW next season. Makes sense, Millenials and Super heroes do well over there on the CW. They also did cancel a show…CSI Cyber. That was the CSI with Patricia Arquette
-CBS wasn't the only one letting cats out of bags last night. As I predicted, Nashville has officially been cancelled which means that Deacon will choose Rayna and NOT the bottle. He'll go get his daughter back and the family they'll all live happily ever after.
-All that fan backlash about the Kate Beckett's exit was for nothing since ABC decided to just cancel the show instead. Some other shows not returning…The Family, Agent Carter Galavant and The Muppets. The Catch, The Real O'Neals and American Crime are all coming back though which did surprise me a bit.
