In today’s mail I had a happy surprise. I opened up the Buddhist monthly bulletin to find one of my haiku was chosen for publication. Pretty sure it was chosen for the references to the story of Buddha’s Birth. It is said that when he was born the birds sang and that a sweet rain fell from the sky.
birds sing and
the clouds cry in joy
Buddha is born
But now I would change it to.
birds sing and
the clouds weep for joy-
Buddha is born
