Swatch and Review
Up for swatch and review today is hot pink creme Angelica Heartbreaker from Primark.
After learning more about toxins in nail polish, I’m slowly swatching and reviewing my way through my collection, before disposing of ones that contain a cocktail of harmful chemicals. Unless I simply can’t part with it, then I’ll use it in moderation and take precautions. Read Conscious Beauty: is Nail Polish Dangerous? here if you missed it.

Angelica Heartbreaker
Angelica Heartbreaker
I used L’Oreal 7 in 1 Saviour La Manicure as a base before painting two coats of Angelica Heartbreaker. I sealed it all with a coat of Seche Vite Fast.
Angelica Heartbreaker
To be honest, Angelica Heartbreaker is so thick, that if you’re not one for a two-thin-coats application you will love this nail polish. If I had of done thicker coats, I could have definitely gotten away with just the one . Beware of the long and sneaky dry time on thicker coats though, it may feel dry to the touch, but the underneath may still be tacky – one knick and it’s game over.
Angelica Heartbreaker
Angelica Heartbreaker is pink, oh so pink and oh so fun. It’s vibrancy is due to the blue iridescence that runs through it’s thick creme formula. Ever so slight, you might be able to notice it in the picture of the bottle above, but it is barely noticeable on the nails. It does however, really make the pink pop, and I absolutely love this hue of Barbie pink.
Angelica Heartbreaker
Nothing out of the ordinary about the Angelica Heartbreaker bottle and the standard of the brush is quite good. As I mentioned earlier the formula is actually really good for such a cheap, Primark stocked, nail polish. It’s thick, but still very easy to work with. Clean up was fairly easy too.
Angelica Heartbreaker
This hot pink nail polish is everything it promises to be, Angelica Heartbreaker is definitely perfect for breaking hearts. However given the strong smell of this nail polish, and a peek at the ingredients, it is also full of harmful chemicals. If you must use a polish that has so many baddies in it, be sure to open a window, protect your nail beds with a good quality, toxin free base coat and concentrate! Avoid your skin and cuticles.
Angelica Heartbreaker
It’s not looking good for the future of Angelica Heartbreaker within my collection. Thumbs up – Angelica have included the ingredients in teeny tiny on the back. Thumbs down – Angelica Heartbreaker contains all the baddies listed in Conscious Beauty: is Nail Polish Dangerous?
Note: When I googled the name printed on my bottle ‘Holiday Fun’ I noticed that Holiday Fun is a completely different, purple iridescent creme polish. The one in these pictures is actually Heartbreaker – but looks like my one fell through the quality testing net or a prankster swapped the labels.

Over to You!
What do you think of this type of pink? Too girly, too pink, too bleurgh? Maybe you’re more bothered about the toxins?
