Today’s bourbon review isn’t actually a bourbon, the Angel’s Envy Bourbon Whiskey is a whiskey specialty because bourbon can’t touch anything but new charred oak. Which is also why on their site it’s billed as Angel’s Envy Whiskey.
Finished in ruby port casks, this whiskey is a culmination of a vision by a father and his son: Lincoln Henderson, ex-Brown-Forman master distiller and his son. Which is where I believe they were sourcing their bourbon from. They have the connections and the mash bill is the same as BF’s so…

Angel’s Envy Bourbon Whiskey Review Review: Overall and Score
Sweetly interesting. Aroma is soft and sweet with layers of sweets without much in the way of rustic notes to balance it out; Palate follows suite being sweet all around without much to balance it out; Finish picks up more nutty notes and kind of ends like a PB&J.
Y’know, the finish actually that sums up this whiskey, an oak-aged PB&J. Overall the Angel’s Envy Bourbon Whiskey is sweet, too sweet for me. I know some love it but for me it’s borderline cloying. The port sweetness doesn’t fully compliment so much as take over and pull away from the bourbon essence.
SCORE: 2/5

Overly sweet without much balancing from the bourbon notes. A soft and sweet whiskey overall.
