Dear Anonymous,

First and foremost, thank you for taking the time to decide that you want to comment about one or more of my blog posts. I guess that means you think that my blog is interesting enough to comment on.

Having said that, I would truly appreciate it if you do not post spam comments or comments that contain sales pitches which are totally unrelated to the blog post that you are commenting on.

I know how hard it is to make a dent in cyberspace and we, bloggers et al. need all the help we can get; but, it is totally irritating to be attacked with comment spam. It takes up a lot of my time to filter them out because I do not want the readers that I do have to stop visiting my blog.

Anonymous, spam comments are not only irritating, they also turn readers off. I have spent years trying to work on this blog. Though I do not come close to being as good as other bloggers out there, I have managed to crawl my way and survive. It takes very hard work, a lot of time, and energy just to maintain a blog and here you go writing spam comments which have the potential of flushing all my hard work down the drain. How is that fair?

The very least you can do is make a comment related to the blog post while using respectable language. I do not spam other bloggers and I do not tolerate spam comments so you may have noticed that none of your comments get published. Yet, you still keep at it -- I do admire your tenacity though I have to admit I want to twist the ears off your head.

From this post onward, I am expecting you -- that means you, ANONYMOUS, to stop writing spam comments. If you do not, I will be forced to disallow anonymous commenting on my blog.

I want everyone to have a chance to be able to comment on my posts but that does not include comment spam.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Bames
