It's called O-R3. It is fully autonomous and is to ensure that the streets of Dubai remain calm even when there are no policemen nearby. This is another undertaking thanks to which Dubai is becoming the unofficial world capital of robotization.

Earlier this year, the authorities announced that they would start testing flying taxis, and now the time has come to combine autonomous vehicles, drones and police officers.

O-R3 moves on four wheels. It has the latest electronics and software supported by artificial intelligence and access to a police database. His task is to patrol the streets. He can perform his service in autonomous mode or remotely controlled by the operator.

Thanks to access to the database, it recognizes the faces of encountered people, analyzes who they are, checks whether they are not sought by law officers by accident. If the machine finds itself in a situation where a crime is committed, it will take part in the pursuit. On the roof of the O-R3 there is a light drone that can be activated to follow the perpetrator and provide live information about its location. The aircraft can move up to 100 meters from the robot.

The vehicle created by the OTSAW Digital start-up from Singapore is also equipped with a laser scanner, infrared camera, HD GPS cameras and LIDAR measuring sensors. In addition to navigation functions, cameras will allow the robot to match recognized faces to patterns in the database.

The manufacturer has already announced that he also wants to build a slightly smaller robot capable of navigating e.g. shopping centers. It can be assumed that if the OR-3 experiment is successful, Dubai will be interested in more machines. The local police announced that by 2030 they would like to create the first fully robotic command in the world.
