For those of you that have been following my work with Project HOPE Art, there was an incredible development earlier this year. After literally a year of paperwork processing, and phone calls and embassy visits, we acquired the unheard of visas for three Haitian artist friends. Project HOPE Art is now officially sponsoring these three young men to visit San Francisco this fall. (It’s the first
time to leave Haiti for one artist and definitely a new experience to be
in California for all three.) They will work with Recology on a multi-medium sculpture made from found trash and recyclable items.Burners without Borders is also offering their support. We’ll be hosting a VooDoo Dinner on September 14th in San Francisco to commemorate this work. We need a TON of donations to make three dreams come true and help everyone travel to the US.
