While cruising is no longer the exclusive realm of Rockefeller and co., there is luxury cruising and then there is real luxury cruising. A ‘luxury’ cruise might give you a neat cabin, several pools, several bars and a casino but real luxury cruising includes extras to make cruising an extravagance such as; person pools attached to a spacious suite with designer products and even your own full-time butler. Opening an offshore bank account might help you afford the high life on the sea that you’ve dreamed of. (Photo "Ships" by linder6580) Norwegian Cruise Lines
Norwegian Cruise Lines offer numerous modern luxury ships but their top of the line liner, the Breakaway, is something else. Launched in 2013 guests are lavished with interiors that looks like they belong in a 6 star hotel in Dubai accompanied by a butler and even a private pool. These super luxury suites are sectioned off like a gated community within the megaship too. The Breakaway’s seven-day itinerary carries passengers between New York, Bermuda and the Bahamas.
Disney Dream
Disney Dream cruise ship features an AquaDuck, the first water coaster at sea. Essentially it’s a luxury hotel, fun park and amusement part on the water making it the ultimate in family holidays. It mostly navigates between the US and Caribbean.
Queen Mary 2

For some old-fashion cruising glamor like the Titanic (minus the iceberg) Queen Mary 2 (QM2) is a once in a lifetime experience. This megaship can carry 2,620 passengers and 1,238 crew members (that’s almost one crew member for every two passengers). It features the Royal Court Theatre, Winter Garden and 14 bars and clubs. QM2 frequently operates between Southampton and New York, but also sails around the world. When this majestic ship enters a port, local television crews turn up to film her. Crystal Cruises
Fresh tropical flowers, Frette bathrobes and room service are some of the standard on crystal cruises that sail the south Pacific and Pacific Rime (Australia, New Zealand, Bali, Hong Kong, Alaska and Los Angeles among others). The ship actually reminds you of staying on a luxury Tahitian island. They have two ships, Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony, which offer language classes, golf lessons from PGA pros and wellness seminars sponsored by the Cleveland
Regent Seven Seas Cruises
The Regents’ standard suites give passengers’ access to the Canyon Ranch SpaClubs, L’Occitane bath products, private balconies and several restaurants and concierge services. For guests in penthouse suites there are personal butlers and Hermès amenities with sweeping views of the seascape from a giant suite. Regent runs three super luxury ships traversing the globe but one of their signature journeys is the Grand Crossing cruise across the Atlantic Ocean; an 18-night Barcelona to Rio de Janeiro cruise via Africa.
If you're thinking of going on one of these, start saving those pennies, and consider switching offshore accounts. On these luxury cruise lines, you'll really be living the high life.
