All Things Vintage — a Fawsley Hall Wedding in Northamptonshire

By Claire

I also admire Anna and Craig’s approach to sourcing wedding suppliers. They sourced items locally and saved money that way, as well as working together with family and friends to make their own accessories for the big day. But most of all this is a beautiful wedding full of smiles and laughter, love and family. There’s mention of a giggling fit at the altar (love it!) in Anna’s wedding report which you’ll find at the end of the blog feature today.

Thank you to Kent wedding photographer Benjamin Toms for sharing the images of this beautiful Fawsley Hall wedding today. And huge congratulations to Anna and Craig! Enjoy! Claire xx

Wedding venue

St. Catherine’s Church, Burbage & Fawsley Hall, Northamptonshire.

Wedding photographer

Kent wedding photographer Benjamin Toms

Wedding ceremony

We married in a village church, which was chosen because both sets of parents married there. Music was sung & played by members of the family. We chose the favorite hymns of late grandparents.

Our wedding readings were chosen and spoken by the bride’s close friend. ‘Marriage fulfills the dreams and love two people share’ by Glenda Wilm.

Venue styling & details

We had old family heirlooms & hand made items by family and friends mixed together with vintage ribbons and flowers!

Invites & stationery

These were hand made by the bride and sister. Design inspiration came from Nina Campbell flowers and vintage lace with old fashioned stamps.

In the evening we had a disco with hours of research for that perfect playlist!!!

What did you wear?

I wore an Enzoani Dakota lace fishtail dress with scalloped edge. This was teamed with a hand made belt & handmade forehead band (by bride & son), and peep toe 5″ bow shoes from Debenhams customized to match my forehead band.

…my track record on wrecking shoes isn’t good! I longed for Louboutins but my feet wouldn’t fit in them! Good job as my shoes from the day had to be thrown away!! Choose wisely and make sure they are comfy!

Craig wore navy tails hired from Christopher Scotney. Ivory waistcoat & cravat, tan brogues and belt. Vintage rose bud handmade handkerchief.

Memorable moments

  • Driving past the steam roller approaching the church with dad.
  • The fit of giggles at the altar together!
  • And getting drunk in the car on the way and the realization you are now married!!

Advice for other couples

Don’t drink too much and defo have a receiving line…what’s half an hour if you get to speak to all your guests? This is a big regret of ours as you just don’t get time throughout the day otherwise.

More recommended wedding suppliers

Support your local shops on high street and town markets. My beads, fabric & ribbons were all bought locally.
