All the Scholastic Career in Italian Language

By Xxlauraxx @all4italy

italian languageWhen we were at school we grumbled thinking about the moment of fun and game.  Sometimes we shivered, while we were watching  who  the teacher wanted to call for Today, if I were asked to choose between the school and the work , my answer is without any doubt :  the school! The years dedicated to the school are many in Italy. Let's start from the Asilo nido (kindergarten): this is the place where the child  stays from the infant up to three years old. Today it is very important  because the parents work both. When we are a bit more conscious so it is the time to go to asilo ( second kindergarten from 3 up to 5/6 years old). Ah the kindergarten! This is the life! You eat, play and do the nap all the time! When you are there you cannot  understand how nice it is the advantage of the nap in the afternoon: you will understand it only when you will be on your office desk many years later! When you are five or six years old the story becomes serious: well, we go in scuola elementare (lower school/ primary school/ grade school) . Every year you study different subject matters  and concepts.
What is more difficult? It is to Understand why we do not play anymore but we have to study. What is more funny?  We do not know  many things and we have a lot of imagination . In my case, for example , I thought that the Brazil was located  in Emilia Romagna on the map, because this region was pink and it gave me a sense of joy: indeed I had been taught that Brazil was a country bright and cheerful! The first frightful step  is the fifth year of the scuola elementare because we have the first very important exam. After this “hard” exam we are for three years in junior high = Scuola media(from 10/11 up to 13/14 years old). We're young, we are junior  teen agers  with the early mental confusion due to the teens  but we are not enough adults and in these three years we have to choose what we will do in the high school = scuola superiore. Here's a magical world! There are  all adults and the freedom, this is what you see from the junior high! There are those bands and he / she  is so disobedient to be considered ok and very independent ( in this way you can survive to the high school) . In Italy the choice of the high school is wide. You can choose to some istituto professionale = professional institute , where you can learn a trade or you can choose the liceo( itis an high school focused on some topic and after that you have to go to the university): you can have artistic, classical, linguistic, scientific liceo and other more. Five years of study, here you become adult of  age  and you can finally choose work or college = università? Whatever you choose your life is going to change and now all depends on you . Goodbye teens!
