All the Right Moves by One Republic.

I had a hard time choosing a video link for this song. I’ve always liked Ryan Tedder’s voice but I have to say, his live performances of this track don’t do any justice. I know he’s a good singer though, maybe he just sounds better in the studio? I don’t know…

This song reminds me of Rodney Eastman, an actor I met at a convention in 2010. He came off as a sort of reckloose who was given many opportunities in life but played with fire a lot. That’s the theme of the song – everything can be so perfect but it doesn’t last. What goes up…must come down. One particular line, “Do you think I’m special? Do you think I’m nice?,” reminds me of when we actually met because I later developed a crush on him. Go figure.

All the Right Moves was released as a single in September of 2009 from the band’s second studio album, Waking Up. It was previously performed at several shows before it was even recorded. The single peaked at #18 on Billboard’s Hot 100.

Above is the audio.
