To be honest, I never saw myself writing an entry about these guys. Why? Well, I don’t listen to them at all anymore but I did when I was a kid. In fact, Nick Carter was my first celebrity crush. The whole “boy band” thing has pretty much left the music scene but let’s face it, boy bands defined a large part of the 90′s. Girls crushed on them and though they don’t always admit it, guys knew a few of their songs too. I actually remember a guy from high school singing BSB songs during art class. It came up again years later in college with another guy.
Anyways, I realized that Nick Carter’s 32nd birthday is exactly a week away so I decided to make an early tribute entry for my first celeb crush. I’ve been watching a lot of 90′s videos lately and it’s made me a little nostalgic of the old days. The song I chose is All I Have to Give. I loved that video as a kid because of Nick’s smile around :18. Those were the days…
All I Have to Give was released in January of 1998 from the album, Backstreet’s Back. The single made #5 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and went to #2 on the UK charts. It also won them a Teen Choice Award in 1999 for Choice Music: Video of the Year.
So step back into the 90′s world of boy bands and watch the official video above.
Happy Birthday, Nick Carter.
