And now a “Happy Easter!”post featuring a really cool non-commercial video produced by some good friends

The Easter Edition is a low-fi Easter-themed parody/homage to Ridley Scott’s Alien (1979). It features spaceships, Easter eggs, alien attacks and lots and lots of chocolate.

It works to a similar low-fi style, relying on props and in-camera effects rather than CGI. This was appropriate for a parody of a pre-CGI film, and many of the special effects are done in made with exactly the same techniques that were used in Alien itself (puppetry, prosthetics, fake body parts etc).

Alien: The Easter Edition

It was filmed in Will Tribble’s family’s living room and garage, using blackcloth and theater flats covered in cardboard decoration. The egg was made of papier mache. The facehugger was a fabric puppet covered in chocolate buttons, made by Kellie “Miss Pearl Grey” Black .

Cast:
James Duckworth, also know as James Harker
John Seaward, played “Big John” in the hit Channel 4 TV show/movie “The Inbetweeners”
Patrick Fysh, winner of Channel 4 TV show “Come Dine With Me”
Nic Lamont, and also these previous videos and
Simon Maeder and Maria Askew of Superbolt theater

And now enjoy your Easter break!
