The book is a huge following among fans of the genre, but for Alexander, it was the chance to work alongside acting legend, Meryl Streep, that closed the deal for him on this movie – even if they only got one scene together and he never got the opportunity to catch up with Meryl offset:
It was a small supporting role, but how could I possibly turn down the opportunity to work with Meryl? We were never able to overlap, so that was quite disappointing. But I’m still in the same movie as Meryl Streep!
And while Alexander has moved on from playing Eric, the actor reveals what it was like for him on the last day of shooting True Blood:
I remember shooting my last scene with Kristin Bauer [van Straten, who plays Pam]. I knew that it was going to be very emotional, I knew that it was going to be difficult, but I had no idea how hard that would hit me the second they yelled cut on our last take together. In that moment, we just looked at each other and burst out crying.
And so will all the Truebies when HBO’s True Blood winds up in less than two weeks!
