True Blood's Alexander SkarsgårdAlexander Skarsgård (True Blood’s vampire sheriff, Eric Northman) has joined the cast of the upcoming dramedy What Maisie Knew, an adaptation of the novel by Henry James.  The film’s story centers on Maisie, a 6 year old girl:

“Enmeshed in the bitter divorce of her mother, a rock and roll icon, and her father, a charming but distracted art dealer.”

Playing Maisie’s mother is Julianne Moore (Chloe) and her father will be played by Steve Coogan (Night At The Museum).  Skarsgård has signed on to play Julianne Moore’s new husband.  The film is currently in the pre-production stage and is being produced and paid for by Red Crown Productions, with Scott McGehee and David Siegel directing.  Shooting has been scheduled for August, in New York City. There should be plenty more to hear about this upcoming film in the next few months.

What do you think, Truebies?  Is it mere coincidence that Skarsgård has chosen two husband roles in as many years?  Could he be ready to settle down?  Leave a comment if you live in the NYC area and plan on trying to catch a glimpse of the action.
