Afternoon in the Village

By Edithlevy

Taking a little break from my subway station images of New York this is a shot of a small park in Greenwich Village.

This was a quick “grab” shot as my husband and I were walking around the village. It was late afternoon, the light was not great actually it was pretty dull but I liked the scene. I processed this image in Lightroom CC and then brought it into Photoshop where I used Topaz Texture Effects. I used a couple of different filters, tweaking each as I went to get my final result.

On another note, I posted two versions of a night shot of Times Square (colour & Black & White) on my Facebook and Instagram pages this weekend. I asked for feedback on which people preferred, the color version or the B&W one. It was a pretty even split with the color beating to the B&W by 1 vote. I’d love to know what you think. If you have a minute hop on over to my Facebook page and let me know. I’d appreciate the feedback.
