I have to admit that I’m more than a bit in love with this dress even though I know it would absolutely shocking with my blue hair! Isn’t it gorgeous though? As I’ve said before, the corsetry and crinolines of this period were cumbersome to wear but the silhouette that they created is one of the most becoming ever.
I am still poorly and spent most of yesterday draped on a sofa watching Young Victoria, which I absolutely love. Emily Blunt makes a flawless Queen Victoria and this dress, even though it’s a couple of decades later (and therefore rather bulkier about the skirts) than the gorgeous gowns worn in the film certainly recalls them to mind with its softly hued prettiness.
