Internationally acclaimed Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra was honoured with the prestigious Smita Patil Memorial Award at the 30th anniversary of Priyadarshini Global Awards held at Trident in Mumbai on 19th of September (Friday).
The Priyadarshini Academy was founded in the year 1984. The Academy marked its 30th anniversary on 19th of September. The Academy acknowledged people with outstanding performances in their respective fields like literature, science and technology, environment protection, education, arts and films.
Priyanka Chopra was honoured with the Smita Patil Memorial Award for her outstanding performance in Hindi Cinema.
Besides Priyanka Chopra, industrialist Mukesh Ambani was honoured with the Harish Mahindra Memorial Award for Business Leadership and religious leader Dada JP Vaswani was honoured with Spiritual Leadership Award.
Other celebrities who were graced on the occasion include Miss World Organisation CEO Julia Morley for Save the Children Award, businesswoman Rajshree Birla for the Ramkrishna Bajaj Award for contribution to CSR, Sir Fazle Hasan Abed of Bangladesh for Alleviation of Poverty & Empowerment of the poor and economist Jeffrey Sachs for Outstanding Contribution to Sustainable Development.
