Richard Kiel, the 7ft 2in (2.18m) Hollywood actor, who played Jaws, the James Bond bad guy with the teeth of steel has left for his heavenly abode on September 10th (Wednesday). He was 74.
Kelley Sanchez, the director of communications at Saint Agnes Medical Center confirmed that the 74 year old Kiel broke his leg last week and died in Saint Agnes Medical Center in Fresno, California.
He starred in dozens of films, but became popular for his notable character Jaws, in the James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) and Moonraker (1979).
He was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1939. His height was due to a hormonal condition known as acromegaly. Kiel made his acting debut in a 1960 Laramie episode called “Street of Hate”.
In the year 2002, he published an autobiography titled “Making It Big In The Movies”.
He was survived by his wife Diane, four children and nine grandchildren.
