Acting Governor Sindh, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro on Friday singed on the bill of the restoration of Local Government Ordinance 1979 after which the law has became an Act.
With this the Sindh Peoples Local Government Ordinance (SPLGO) 2012, has not only been withdrawn, but the new local body system has became the story of past and the all officers appointed under that system have became inactive.
The bill singing ceremony was held at Governor House, where Sindh Senior Minister Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq, provincial Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Muhammad Ayaz Soomro, provincial Minister for Culture Sassui Palejo, provincial Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, provincial Minister for Local Government Agha Siraj Durrani, provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation Mukesh Kumar Chawla were also present.
Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan, who belongs to Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), had left for London early on Friday to meet party chief Altaf Hussain and he is likely to resign in 48 hours.
