My gosh have the last 6 months just flown by, I remember sitting here writing your 2 year birthday post wondering how on earth you were 2, now we are halfway to your 3rd birthday and I don't think I'm quite ready for you to get there just yet.
You've changed so much in just 6 short months, to start off you suddenly look like a proper little girl, gone are your little chubby legs and arms, your face is maturing by the day it seems and you are so god damn beautiful it hurts my heart! We headed out yesterday as the sun was shining and popped out for a little walk, which is where I took your 2 1/2 year photos, looking through them on the laptop afterwards, Daddy & I were just smiling through them, they show your bubbly personality and just how happy you are. Definitely made me well up a little scrolling through them! :)
Speech Your speech has always been really good, but now you are talking in sentences, we can have proper conversations with you, you understand 90% of what we talk to you about and definitely let us know what you want and don't want...Your manners are amazing, always saying yes please and thank you too! You are so sociable as well, you always say hello to everyone, even walking down the road you wave and say hi to people, when you greet someone you know you always give a little dance as well to show your excitement, a lot of the time you say "how are you today?" or "what are you doing here?" too, such a polite little girl :) You honestly don't stop talking, you love playing with other little ones and are so good with names now too, if I show you a picture of someone you know, you'll quickly tell me who they are! You've been able to say your ABC's since you were about 18 months old so we are encouraging you to write them all at the moment too! Food & Drink You love your food so much, fruit especially, your favourite foods at the moment are apples, grapes, blueberries, sugar snap peas, mange tout (so posh aren't you!), chickpeas, rice, crisps, sausages, toast and pasta! You enjoyed a bit of chocolate over Easter too which you absolutely loved! Drink wise you still drink your water every day, we haven't offered you juice or anything else as we think its best you just have water for now! You have such a healthy diet, always have your 5 a day and always snacking on fruit too, long may it continue :)You absolutely love drawing, if you're about to go into tantrum mode we ask you if you'd like to draw a picture and you instantly perk up and shout YES PLEASE, you can draw pretty perfect, circles, squares, triangles, rectangles, ovals and adorable little faces too, as well as writing the letter P (thanks Squiglet), we are encouraging you to write your name at the moment so look forward to the first time you start writing it properly! You're always drawing pictures and definitely seem to have the artistic gene! Thankfully you no longer feel the need to draw on the walls so that helps us a lot ha ha.

Daddy
You've always been a bit of a Mummy's girl, I guess the fact I had your food source attached to me kinda contributed to that, but you were always my little girl and came to me more often than not.
However, the past month or so, you've really loved your Daddy time, which has given me more time to get things done in the day but has also really made your Daddy happy too, as soon as you hear the back door open in the afternoon, you say "who's that?", push open the living room door and shout "DADDY!" and greet him with a big smile, a little dance and sometimes even a big hug!
When it's his day off you are always wanting to play with him/climb on him and especially give him the biggest smile first thing in the morning and tell him to wake up! If you know we're going out, you'll ask; "Daddy, are you coming?", "Daddy where are you, I can't see you", you also love holding his hand if we're walking along too!
Sleep For the first time EVER you actually missed your nap on Tuesday, you woke up later in the morning so I guess you had enough sleep that night, I wasn't sure how you would be not having it but I can honestly say it was like nothing had changed, you were your usual happy and bubbly self, no tantrums and you fell asleep at bedtime within about 3 minutes, it was perfect! You didn't have one again on Wednesday or Thursday after waking up late but Friday you decided you needed an extra little rest after waking up an hour and a half early that morning, so yay for that!
You have never really been great with sleeping through the night, but this year you have been a lot better, just last month you slept through about 20 days out of the entire month which was amazing for me, I've never felt so rested! To be fair you haven't actually woken up during the night much at all this year, i'd say probably only twice, both times you had a bad belly so I don't blame you really, although if you could go back to sleep in under 2 hours next time, I wouldn't mind ;). So on the days when you nap, you sleep 9.15-7.45 then on the few days you missed your nap it was 8.15 ish-8.30! Both of which are amazing! :)
I never thought I'd say this, but I actually enjoyed the days when you didn't nap, it meant we could do more things together and makes me look forward to being able to spend a whole day out as a family as opposed to working around nap time, I can see a few days at the beach coming this summer, and maybe even a sneaky little trip to Peppa Pig World too!Tantrums Oh boy can you throw a tantrum, sometimes I swear you're possessed or something with the noises that come out of you, for such a cute little thing, you sure have a proper attitude if the word 'no' gets thrown in your direction! To be fair you only really have the big tantrums a few times a month, the rest of the time you're very well behaved, you can easily go a week without a single tantrum at all which is always nice for Mummy & Daddy! Sometimes I don't know what to do when you throw yourself around and scream like theres no tomorrow, but you usually snap out of them pretty quickly after I ask you why you're upset, you are very good at letting me know why and what you would like to make you feel better. It's usually very small things that make you upset, like not letting you play with the wires behind the telly, or us taking you off the fireplace which you figured out how to climb...it took us 3 days to sort that one out, lots of repetition but you finally learned you would get "ouchies" if you fell off which soon put you off! In public you are amazing most of the time, you love walking around in supermarkets and being pushed around in your pushchair too, we've had a few meltdowns in ASDA when you've decided you wanted the chocolate chick out of it's foil NOW, even though we weren't going to buy it, Mummy had to carry you around the rest of the way flailing your arms around and screaming! Oh and the time you decided you wanted not one, but two footballs from the kids section, so off you went, one ball under each arm, heading back out of the shop without paying or a care in the world, you were not happy when we told you, you couldn't have them... Wherever we go, people always comment on how well behaved you are so that's always nice to hear, to be honest though I don't think at this age there's such a thing as being 'naughty', just boundary testing and learning what you can and can't get away with, it's a learning curve for you as much as it is for us, we've never had to do it all either! Others also mention how gorgeous you are as well, usually your hair in particular which has grown so much recently, it's so thick, blonde and pretty, definitely having hair envy! You are such a performer too, just the other day your Great Uncle and Auntie popped over to give you and easter egg, so to say thanks, you gave them a little show on the doorstep, singing twinkle twinkle little star, incy wincy spider, sharing your animals sounds with them and also telling them you were going on holiday...I'd like to know when that is so I can prepare please? We are so so proud of the little girl you are already, you're kind, polite, cuddly, sweet, bloody hilarious and becoming the most gorgeously beautiful angel we could have ever imagined. I'm sure the next 6 months will fly by too and we will be celebrating your third birthday before we know it, but for now, stay just as you are, you're just perfect! We love you so so much!
