A Winter Salad

By Saumya Shiohare @myriadmusings1
A WINTER SALADThis is a cold/room temperature salad but the tempering using white sesame seeds makes it winter-worthy. Sesame is considered to be a warm food and is primarily used in winters. In Indian culture sesame has both religious and medical significance. It has a long list of nutritive values to it. Not only does it strengthens your bones and muscles but it also keeps your skin glowing. So ladies this one is for you if you wish to have a winter glowing skin....wink wink !This salad can be eaten cold or at room temperature. I like the latter. The nutty taste of the sesame infuses so well with the crunchy pomegranate, I simply love this ! So for 2 servings you need :-1/2 cup pomegranate seeds1/2 cup cubed cucumbers, preferably seedless1/4 cup chopped red onions 1/2 a tsp of lemon juice ( more if you like it tangy)salt & pepper to tasteFor tempering :-   1 tbsp oil, I used canola oil. 1/4 tsp cumin seeds. 1 tbsp white sesame seeds, you could use less as per your tasteMethod :- Mix the raw cut ingredients including lemon juice, salt and pepper.Heat the oil in a tempering spoon. When hot add the cumin seeds and sesame. Remove from fire as soon as the sesame seeds turn slightly golden brown. Don't over burn, burn't sesame doesn't taste pleasant. Carefully drizzle it over the salad, mix and   DIG in !                                                                        Hope you enjoy this as much as my family does it ! Thanks for stopping byhealthfully yoursSAUMYA
