I no longer know what to say

I have reached a standstill

Stagnate water

All of my senses chilled

One day is the same as the next

Except they’ve grown longer

Have more hours been added to time?

Or is time no longer the same

Has it evolved, has it morphed?

Have I been lost somewhere on time’s infinite plane?

I hear an old wind-up clock in the distance

The loud tic..tic…tic

Reminds me I am alive

I am the breath between the tics

It is the tic tic tic of my heart

Someone remembered to rewind

Another hand of the clock reminding me to breathe

The hand takes mine, pulling me

I go wherever it leads

I am  no longer the same

Have I evolved, have I morphed?

Have I been lost somewhere on time’s infinite plane?

I look forward to my dreams

I escape the hands of time

No more reminders, no more stress

Peace, silence and tranquility

No on to impress

When did a good time become a dreamland?

Brief moments in time, when my eyes are closed

The tic tic ticking stops

I can explore, I can go

I can clasp the hand of an angel

Yet another dimension

A new place, in time, in an ancient city

A new beginning, millions of years old

New hands of time taking me

No longer on a desolate plane

No longer lost between the hands

No longer confined to bed

The ticking has stopped along with my breath

The hands of time take me in

My feet touch a new land

My mind absorbs, as I take it all in

Knowledge is before me

All of life’s answers

But again, I am sent back

Back to my time, back to my place

Forced to wake up to the tic tic tic

Of time and pace

My life on rewind

I know this is depression

The slow part of time, which never seems to end

I must continue to write

It is an escape, it gives me a refill

It helps me continue to fight

It helps me continue to dance

It keeps me sane within the tic of rhyme

It helps me to breathe

A tic at a time
