Remember that epic Brussels Airport diamond heist we reported on back in February? Well, luckily, over 20 arrests were made in connection with the huge robbery. It seems that the diamonds stolen from the storage of an airplane in Brussels were expected to be cash – which would be much easier for the thieves to launder instead of having to sell diamonds. However the thieves, disguised as police, did manage to pull off one of the largest diamond heists in history, even though they were eventually caught. The drama, mystery and danger of diamond and jewelry heists is nothing new though – as evidenced by JCK’s infographic of the last decade of jewelry heists.
