There are many ways to propose to your significant other – some are more creative than others, some more crazy than others, but this proposal probably takes the cake. Namely, a Chinese man bought 99 iPhone 6 models to propose to his girlfriend.
A young programmer from Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province in South China, bought 99 iPhone 6 units and used them to form an outline of a giant heart in front of her workplace. Several of his friends and colleagues came to support him, record everything and take pictures.
Did she say ‘yes’?
These iPhone models cost the young man $82,000, and he also brought flowers with him. Unfortunately, his girlfriend was not that impressed, so she declined his offer. His colleagues shared the photos and the news on Weibo, a Chinese social network, and the story became a hit!
Everything happened on November 11, on a Chinese annual event – Single’s Day (Guanggun Jie). People began celebrating this day in China in the 1990s, but Single’s Day has become a global phenomenon over the years. On this day, people tend to buy gifts for themselves and celebrate being single – this is what probably inspired the young man to propose in the first place. At least he has 99 iPhones to cheer herself up a bit.
