Life seems to be going at a hundred miles an hour at the moment, not that i'm really complaining, it's so nice being busy, plus having a social life again is bloody amazing! I pretty much hid in my little shell after I had Abbie, and for 3 1/2 years I stayed there and dedicated every ounce of my time to her. She's suddenly grown up the past few months, I don't know how it happened, it's literally like she woke up one day and decided to talk lots and be super independent! I'm now able to actually leave her all day, whilst I meet up occasionally with friends, she's happy and content without me which is such a great milestone, for the both of us.
As most of you will probably know, Abbie sleeps in my bed, it was easier when she was a baby and she was a bloody awful sleeper for the longest time so that was the decision that was made. But I have literally spent the past 3 1/2 years going to bed at the same time as her, originally because she would need settling a lot, then I think it became a habit for us both and then through pure exhaustion, I found myself falling asleep at 9.30 anyway! I feel like a proper grown up now, because I've started coming downstairs and leaving her in bed, and I have to say, it's been amazing. I have time to talk to and see friends, catch up on TV and just be me for a few hours, i've thoroughly enjoyed it.
I thought i'd write up a little catch up post, I don't remember the last time I wrote one like this, plus i've taken so many photos on my phone it would be a shame to waste them!
Sunday just gone, I popped into Bath to meet up with an old friend, Bath is seriously one of my favorite places to be, so many adorable shops, hidden pathways and so much history, I always feel uplifted just being there. We decided to have some lunch so popped into The Green Rocket, an adorable Vegan/Vegetarian restaurant, I'd had a look at the place online and it sounded so quirky and the food looked delicious too, plus with myself being a Vegetarian and Clare heading back to the Vegan life, it worked for the both of us!
We both ordered the Nut Roast Dinner and pretty much salivated all over the table based on the smells coming out of the kitchen I can honestly say, this was not only the best roast dinner i've ever had, but the best meal i've ever had in a restaurant, everything was delicious and I am so excited to go back! I'm a bit picky with where I eat, especially now i'm a Vegetarian, I don't want to be awkward but if I know there is no meat whatsoever in the building, I kinda relax a little!
We then headed out and wandered around Bath for some shopping time, I even had my very first visit to a LUSH shop, can't believe i've been missing out on it all this long, I've now used my first product too and am crazy in love! I know exactly what i'm asking for, for my birthday now! ;). Such a lovely day out though and even the weather held out for us, hooray!
Something big that happened about 5 weeks ago now, was getting my hair cut off again! I literally see a hairdresser every 2 years and my hair grows ridiculously quickly! So I had about 12 inches off and I am so in love with the end result! It was a little shorter than I wanted but I knew I was in great hands with my hairdresser so trusted him completely! I will be going back to him every time from now on! I've popped a before and after photo below if you're interested!
I've also rekindled my love again for ice lollies, random I know, but on the one week we had scorching sunshine and it was too hot for words, I needed something to cool me down, FAB's in particular, I forgot just how good they were! Oh and I'm obsessed with the Salted Caramel Ice Creams from Waitrose too, SERIOUSLY amazing! Staying on the subject of food, i've been cooking some new things recently, we even tried out a Hello Fresh box the other week which I will be sharing with you all soon, I was surprised how good everything was! I have so many recipes saved on my laptop at the moment, i'm pretty much set with a new meal every day till Christmas!
Can someone please tell me who said it was ok for Abbie to grow up? Seriously, I feel like she went to sleep a baby and woke up about 7 years old! Her personality is really blooming at the moment, she's a super feisty one thats for sure, but she's also seriously so well behaved, i'm really very very lucky! (lets hope i've not just jinxed that!). She's just got the kindest heart in the world, loves her cuddles still but at the same time she's very independent, she nows makes her breakfast herself, even down to buttering her toast and cutting it up (blunt knife of course), she loves choosing what to wear and is such a little chatterbox too! In 3 months she will be 4 years old and i'm not quite sure what to think about it...where does the time go?
