Our ‘man what can’ arrived earlier in the week to start work on the garden. The sun was beating down, and he was working like stink. The dogwood that had so far eluded us was whipped out by mid morning, and there he was, busy levelling the ground. I think he had the advantage of having tools twice the size of anything I’ve ever seen, and hands like shovels.
I popped down to offer some cold refreshments, to be greeted by a hot, sweaty man wiping his brow. I noted the absence of the dogwood, to which he replied, “Yes, it was a tough one – it’s over there. Have a tug on it and feel the weight of it!”. I laughed out loud, and chortled, “It’s not every day that I get invited to tug on a big heavy log! – in my own garden as well!”
We had a good chuckle over that… Anyway, happy to say that by the end of the day we’d sorted out the design of the new bit of garden, and he’ll be back at the beginning of next week to start on phase two.
