A Great Way to Teach Sailing in New York

By Sailingguide

A benefit regatta is being held this week for the Harbor School of New York City, a public high school with a strong maritime program. America's Cup 12-meter boats and J24s will be racing, with proceeds going to the school's programs. Learn more here. The Harbor School is a successful example of an educational program that along with traditional academic subjects and college preparation includes aquaculture and aquaponics, boat-building, marine sciences and technology, and related fields. What a terrific opportunity for water-loving NYC youth - and something the sailors involved in the regatta can feel proud of.
