Danae, Correggio ( 1530,1531)
When I’m sad or I have to take an hard decision there is only one solution, I have to spend some minutes or hours in front of the most famous paintings. The forms, the colors and the harmony of the paint give me a sense of peace. When I have a time I can go and reflect in some museum but if there is not time I look a pics of some paintings and I stay by myself. At the last hard decision the mate of my reflection was Danae painted by Correggio. Some info, the painting was created in 1530-1531 and it is now exposed in Galleria Borghese , Rome. Correggio had painted this art work giving an absolute elegance to all the forms of the two bodied and to the gestures. The dark and the light are in perfect balance and they have the same importance in all the canvas. The painting tells about Danae, princess of Argo. She is prisoner because her father believes he will be dethroned by her son - this was the prophecy . Even if she is prisoner Danae will be pregnant thank to Jove . The theme about the Jove’s love affairs had been very spread in the Italian painting of the Renaissance. The same subject will be portrayed by many artists in some different ages. Quando sono triste o devo prendere una decisione difficile c'è una sola soluzione , devo trascorrere qualche minuto o, se mi è possibile, qualche ora di fronte a qualcuno dei grandi quadri. Le forme , i colori e l'armonia della pittura mi trasmettono un senso di pace . Quando ho un po’ più di tempo posso andare e riflettere in qualche museo , ma se manca il tempo guardo una foto di qualche dipinto e sto da sola. Durante l'ultima decisione difficile il compagno della mia fase meditativa è stato il quadro Danae di Correggio . Alcune informazioni , la pittura è stato creato nel 1530-1531 ed è ora esposto nella Galleria Borghese , Roma. Correggio aveva dipinto questa opera d'arte dando una assoluta eleganza a tutte le forme dei due corpi ed alla loro gestualità. Il buio e la luce sono in perfetto equilibrio e hanno la stessa importanza in tutta la tela. Il dipinto racconta di Danae , principessa di Argo . La fanciulla è prigioniera per scongiurare la profezia che vede suo padre detronizzato dal nipote, di lei figlio. Anche se prigioniera, Danae rimarrà incinta grazie a Giove . il tema degli amori del Giove era molto diffuso nella pittura italiana del Rinascimento . Lo stesso tema sarà interpretato da molti artisti anche postumi .
