7 Deadly Sins #beautiesonfire Link Up

By Elisabeth @onecutedoc

Attention Beauty Lovers. Welcome to the next Beauties On Fire themed link-up. If you don’t know about Beauties on Fire, make sure to check out this post. Our next theme was decided via a Twitter poll. Anyone could vote and our winner was…”7 Deadly Sins.” All the AMAZING #beautiesonfire members have written posts with their own spin on the 7 Deadly Sins.  The 7 Deadly sins are; Gluttony, Lust, Greed, Pride, Despair, Wrath, Sloth, and Envy.

I had so many ideas for this post. I decided to go with the 7 deadly sin: GREED! Greed is such a problem in the world today. So many people have become obsessed with money and will stop at nothing.  It really is so sad and I am here to tell you that…Money will not solve all your problems. Many times it will only add to your list of problems. So be thankful for what you have and keep working.

Since I am a beauty blogger, I have also added a list of 7 deadly beauty sins. I had such a blast coming up with them and I hope you enjoy them! Are you guilty of any of them?

Also, make sure you check out all the links below and show some love (come back often to see which bloggers have posted). They are seriously so amazing. I know you will love reading them as much I have. Also, we are always accepting new members and anyone can join (see post above or rules below). Make sure you check out last week’s #beautiesonfire “Pokemon” link-up if you missed it.

7 Deadly Sins (GREED) Beauty Look:

I really love how this look turned out. I never wear much green but love how it looks with the greed theme. I also didn’t have a green lipstick so I used an eyeliner instead. It actually worked out nicely. What do you think?

1.) Forgetting To Wear Sunscreen

Dont Forget Sunscreen

I can’t stress how important it is to wear sunscreen and sun protection. Skin cancer is such a serious issue and it is so deadly. The sun can also age you so please just remember to put on sunscreen. This goes for everyone, no matter what color your skin is!

2.) Not Blending Contour

Contouring Gone Wrong

Contouring is so popular and I don’t see it going away anytime soon. However, please remember to blend your contour (unlike Crazy Beth in the GIF)

3.) Overusing Highlight

Caution Tin Man Highlight

I am totally for using highlighters to accentuate features. However, ain’t nobody thinks the tin man look is in. So please don’t slather highlight all over your face (unless you are doing the highlighter challenge, of course). Make sure to apply with a light hand and blend. You can always add more if you need too. Crazy Beth looks like she is ready to compete with tin foil (or the Twilight vampires).

4.) Overdrawn Lips

Say No To Overdrawn Lips

This is just a big NO! I hate overdrawn lips so much. They make you look so fake and give you that “plastic surgery gone wrong” look. Simply, fill in your natural lips and apply a matching lipstick shade on top. This looks so much more natural. You can make your lips look larger by applying gloss to the center of the lips.

5.) Choppy Eyeshadow (Not Blending)

For Goodness Sake Blend

One of my biggest pet peeves is seeing eyeshadow not blended. Crazy Beth tried to make her eyeshadow not blended (however, it didn’t come out as bad as she wanted). Elisabeth is just too used to blending eyeshadow. Eyeshadow is one of the first things I notice on a person and it is just so important to blend properly. I am not saying you have to blend as amazingly as some of the Instagram gurus (I am totally convinced they filter the crap out of their photos to make it look so flawless. This may never be able to be achieved in real life). However, put some work into your eyeshadow and invest in some brushes. They don’t have to be expensive just have brushes of different sizes to make blending easier. Take the time to blend your eyeshadow and you will notice a huge improvement in your makeup.

6.) Being Too Tired To Remove Makeup

No Excuses 2

You need to remove your makeup! Let me say it again, YOU ARE NOT TOO TIRED TO REMOVE YOUR MAKEUP! Just do it! Your skin will thank you with clear skin and unclogged pores.

7.) Never Washing Makeup Brushes

Clean Your Brushes

Okay, Okay! You caught me! I am totally guilty of this beauty sin. I am staring at a mountain of unclean brushes as I type this post. Looks like Crazy Beth needs to get to work and clean her brushes. It really is so important because it preserves the life of your brushes. It also keeps nasty bacteria from building up and creating havoc on your face.

Do you agree with my 7 deadly beauty sins? Are you guilty of any of them? Let me know in the comments below!
