Story: 57 Seconds starts when tech blogger Franklin (Hutcherson) looks to score a big interview with tech guru Anton Burrell (Freeman). He gets a job to get close to him, only to save his life from an attempted assassination.  Franklin is left with a ring which gives him the ability to reverse 57 seconds of his life.

To start with, Franklin uses this to reward himself, scoring off casinos. However, he has grabbed the attention of the wrong type of people. It leaves Franklin in the position to target the person he believes did the most wrong to him.

Verdict on 57 Seconds

57 Seconds is an action thriller following a tech blogger who wants to bring down a corrupt businessman. However, he gets an unlikely gift which gives him the ability to relive a certain amount of time. Even if it leads to him getting in over his head, he wants to bring everything down.

This is a weird little thriller that has a good core concept but doesn’t seem to do a lot with it. There are elements of the Nicolas Cage movie Next. It uses the idea of being able to re-live a certain amount of time and shows what it can do if you change that small series of events. However, everything feels rushed and nothing gets enough time to unravel, along with the confusion motivation one character has.

Final Thoughts 57 Seconds is a thriller without much filler.
