5 Favourites Under £5

By Behindtheseclosedeyes @theseclosedeyes
I'm sure we're all bargain hunters at heart and it's always good to know that the more affordable high street brands are offering great quality products at a much cheaper price. Today I've put together 5 of my favorite makeup products under £5 and although it was a bit difficult to begin with, I managed to narrow it down to these 5 fab items in the end. A couple of the products are very popular in the blogging world already but I had to give them all a mention as I get so much use out of them on a daily basis. I'd love to know what some of your favourites under £5 so please let me know in the comments!
5 favourites under £5
Barry M is still one of my favorite nail polish brands with a good range of different shades & finishes, and what's even better is the formula which is easy enough to apply on the nails as I've had no issues so far. Polishes in the range of solid colours & glitters retail for £2.99 each which is an absolute bargain, but the collection I want to highlight in this post is the Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paints which are nice & thick and leave a super shiny finish on the nails. The Gelly Hi-Shine polishes cost £3.99 which is still an absolute bargain for the quality you are getting, and there's always some kind of 3 for 2 or buy two for £6 offer in Boots or Superdrug so there's plenty of chances to stock up.
The whole Natural Collection range in Boots is an absolute steal as everything is just £1.99, and the product I wanted to include in this post is their mascara which I've raved about so many times already. I've been loving the Lash Build Mascara for years now as it's so cheap but still great for adding volume and length to my faint lashes. If you're looking for quite a dramatic lash look then this mascara probably isn't for you but for anyone who is after a more natural look for everyday wear then I'd definitely recommend trying the Natural Collection mascaras. There's a few different versions of the mascara depending on what your lashes need, and since it's not going to break the bank it's always good to try a few out and see what works best. Boots is currently offering a 3 for £5 deal on Natural Collection products so what better time to try a few goodies from the range!
I'm sure you're no stranger to the brand MUA which has a big range of budget friendly makeup products, with products from the basic range costing just £1 (!!) which is an absolute bargain. I could recommend so many products from the brand such as the mosaic blushers/bronzers (£2.50), lipsticks (£1) and eyeshadow palettes (£4), but in the end I wanted to concentrate on the product I've used the most. The MUA collaboration with Love Hearts resulted in these little pots of lip balm and I've used the Love Heart Lip Balm in Kiss Me (£2) to death as it adds a lovely hint of color to the lips and also keeps any dry patches at bay.
The Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder has always been one of the blogger favourites and for good reason too because it's great for making sure your skin stays matte throughout the day. At £3.99 it's a great buy and I'm not kidding when I say that the 14g of product lasts a very long time, even after using it every single day! My skin is mainly dry although I do get an oily t-zone most days, so a mattifying powder used to set my foundation is essential and this offering from Rimmel definitely does the job of keeping my face shine free during the day, although I sometimes need to reapply on my nose as it gets extremely oily for some reason. A lot of bloggers seem to go for the Transparent shade but I have the shade Peach Glow which also adds a slight glow to the skin.
The last product I've included is the Dainty Doll powder blusher which I picked up on Fragrance Direct when everything was reduced down to £1.99. Unfortunately these blushers are out of stock right now but hopefully they will be coming back as they are an absolute bargain with an RRP of £13.50 which is crazy. I have the shade You Are My Sunshine (004) which is a gorgeous pink shade with gold shimmer running throughout, and what's even better is that this is a great dupe for the very popular NARS Orgasm. The whole Dainty Doll range has been specially created with us pale ladies in mind and for that I'm so glad!
