fave 2014 ost

I consistently stay up-to-date with latest soundtrack whenever I can, since sometimes it’s the only thing I can do while waiting a new movie to be released. While in 2014, I find myself constantly listening to these new tracks. They are addictive to hear and refreshing. Without any ranks, here’s my favorite 5 soundtrack of last year :

Goodnight Radio – Sophia So Far (Before I Disappear)

Shawn Christensen’s indie movie, Before I Disappear, have some potential and characteristics. In one particular scene, the bar played this song and Sophia (Fatima Ptacek) danced perfectly to it. It is now one of the best music moments I’ve seen, and this catchy song is responsible for it. Christensen also sing and written the song.

Adam Levine – Lost Stars (Begin Again)

John Carney’s Begin Again was musically refreshing, though not as inspiring as Once. I loved the characters, the world where music is our air and most of the singles sang in the movie. Knightley’s raw and simple voice was perfect for idealistic Greta. But, Levine’s voice really gave life to some of the songs, like Lost Stars.

Gotye – Somebody I Used To Know (Boyhood)

Linklater’s Boyhood really shows the growth of a boy by 12 years shooting, and it was described through culture and music shown in the movie. Somebody I Used to Know isn’t the newest song, but it simply caught in my head just like that.

Charlie XCX – Boom Clap (The Fault in Our Stars)

I loved and hated The Fault in Our Stars, but they did a good job selecting the soundtrack. It targets the teens and young minds with lots of promising musicians and singers in it. I speak for everyone that Charlie XCX’s Boom Clap is lively upbeat and youthful. I heard it on promotional programs on TV channels, it’s that loveable.

M83 – I Need You (Divergent)

Divergent, the new young female heroes series also filled their soundtracks with mainly fast paced and upbeat tracks to support the actions in the movie. But there’s one song soften it all, it’s M83’s I Need You who speaks for the love scenes in the movie.

I also fond of these 2013 soundtracks :

Pharell Williams – Happy (Despicable Me 2)

The Beautitudes (The Great Beauty)

Jose Gonzalez – Stay Alive (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty)
