5 Boots for Fall/Winter Every Girl Needs in Her Closet
It has already gotten chilly in Chicago. I haven’t pulled out one pair of boots. I’ve seen people prancing down the street in their nice boots while I’m still walking around in my ballet flats. Somebody be a good friend and tell me it’s time to put them up! I’m having a hard time getting over summer! I was meant to live in a tropical climate!
Since I must let go of summer and get my cute boots out, I might as well write a post about them. There are five boots for fall/winter that every girl needs in her closet.
The Trendy Knee High
A few years ago I bought a pair of knee high boots. They were patent leather and black (bad combination). I wore them a few times under my sweater dresses because they looked too tacky and hooker’ish on me to wear with anything else. This experience taught me to stick with suede/leather when it comes to these boots. Knee high boots can hit that borderline between classy and trashy real fast. But they look awesome with skinny jeans!
Sexy Date Night
The stiletto boot is a versatile boot that goes great with jeans, tights, skirts, and dresses on date night or at any other I’m cute and sexy event. The possibilities are endless!
The classic riding boot works for everyday & date night as well.
Working 9-5
I work in a super casual environment. Whenever someone shows up in a pair of heels; they get the undercover side eye. They spend the whole day stomping across the carpeted floor making that “hey, I want to let everyone know I’m coming” noise. Anyway, these booties are that cute and comfy pair that you wear to work when you don’t want to carry extra shoes in cold weather.
Damn, it’s cold outside
Uggs are expensive, but they are some of the warmest boots I’ve ever owned that don’t require me to spend 15 minutes lacing them up. Don’t even get me on the extra weight that heavy duty boots require you to carry. My first pair of boots that were Ugg-like had some weird funky foam like sole that made me involuntarily do the moonwalk every time I walked into a building. If you do opt for a cheaper brand; make sure you have a good rubber sole.
Netflix & Chill
This year Netflix and Chill took on a different meaning. But in my book, Netflix and Chill means I get to wear my favorite torn up terry cloth bathrobe along with these cuddly boots. The robe and the slipper boots combined with a bowl of popcorn and a good movie streaming on Netflix make for an awesome night when its 5 degrees outside and a foot of snow.
When I buy boots, I invest a little more money because of the change in weather conditions. Chicago winters are brutal and your girl has to walk in slippery conditions. The last thing I want to do is fall! Ain’t nobody got time for that!
