Confucius had this to say about wisdom:
“By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest; second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest.”
I’ve had the opportunity to learn wisdom in all these ways – and since my goal is to continue to seek wisdom and live an exceptional life – I now choose the reflection strategy most –
Although I still imitate – why not follow and learn from those doing amazing things – or as Cavett Roberts used to say, “Learn from Other People’s Experience.”
And the opportunity to learn from experience is very much alive in my life also… wishing sometimes it wasn’t the most bitter!
Yet each of these and all of life is for me – learning and doing and being – and I am blessed, grateful and hopefully wiser every day!
